Fletcher Building companies support employees and their families with programmes that help them live well and achieve their potential. Work life balance is supported in a variety of ways and the company provides flexible work options that recognise employees' wider family and community responsibilities.

In addition, The Fletcher Building Employee Educational Fund provides funds to support development and education opportunities for New Zealand employees and their dependents, and for Australian and South Pacific employees.

New Zealand employees also benefit from the Fletcher Building Employee Welfare Fund, a private trust fund that provides financial assistance to employees and their families in certain circumstances.

To allow employees to further be involved in Fletcher Building's success, the company also introduced *FBuShare, its employee share scheme which allows Fletcher Building staff to own a stake in the company. Employees decide how much they want to contribute towards Fletcher Building shares and are generously awarded extra shares if they remain in the scheme for a given time. 

In May 2012 FBuShare was awarded "Best New Employee Share Plan" by Employee Ownership Australia and New Zealand.
