J Ling
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr Ling was recruited as chief executive officer in May 2006 and was appointed to the board in August 2006. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. Prior to joining Fletcher Building in July 2003, he was Executive General Manager of the Nylex Division, Austrim Nylex Ltd. He was Chief Executive Officer of Visy Recycling for four years and prior to that Manager Corporate Development with Pacifica Ltd where he led Pacifica's extensive business build up in Asia. He has Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees.

M Adamson
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - LAMINATES AND PANELS - FORMICA

In May 2008 Mr Adamson accepted the role of Chief Executive Formica Corporation following the acquisition by Fletcher Building. He joined the Formica Group in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer of the European division followed by the role of Managing Director UK and Eire and in 2004 became President of Formica Europe. Prior to joining Formica Corporation he was Financial Controller of the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. Mr Adamson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance from Northumbria University UK. He is a member of the English Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Taxation. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee.

M J Binns
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - INFRASTRUCTURE

Mark Binns joined Fletcher Challenge Limited in 1989 from the partnership of a large Auckland law firm. Following roles in Fletcher Property, he became Chief Executive of Fletcher Construction and presently also has responsibility for all property related activities of Fletcher Building. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. He has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Auckland.

D C Edwards
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - DISTRIBUTION

David Edwards has a broad and successful business background, including over 20 years’ major chain retail experience with the Coles Myer group. In 1999, David accepted the role of General Manager - Sales and Marketing within The Laminex Group. He was appointed General Manager - Operations in 2004 and was responsible for manufacturing, procurement and planning throughout the Laminates & Panels division. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee.

C D Ellis
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - BUILDING PRODUCTS

The appointment of Mr Ellis as chief executive of the Building Products division is a result of a successful 16 year career with Fletcher Building. Prior to taking this role he was general manager of Winstone Aggregates having previously held management roles within Fletcher Construction. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Canterbury and a Masters degree (Engineering Science and Management) from Stanford University in California. In 2006 he completed the Advanced Management Programme at the prestigious Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee.

M C Farrell
COMPANY SECRETARY AND GENERAL COUNSEL

Martin Farrell joined Fletcher Challenge Limited in 1980 where he headed the tax function across the Fletcher Challenge group. In addition to this, in early 2000 he took on the role of Company Secretary. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. Prior to joining Fletcher Challenge he worked for KPMG. Mr Farrell has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from Otago University. He is an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

P J F Merry
EXECUTIVE GENERAL MANAGER - HUMAN RESOURCES

Peter Merry joined Fletcher Building as the General Manager - Human Resources in January 2002. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee and also a trustee for the Fletcher Building Retirement Plan. Prior to joining Fletcher Building, Peter was the Executive General Manager - Programme Office & Human Resources for CLEAR Communications. He was educated in Cape Town, South Africa, where he gained his Bachelor of Business Science and Master of Business Administration degrees. Before moving to New Zealand in 1999 he held senior human resource roles in the South African retail sector, most recently as the HR Director for Foschini Stores Limited.

W J Roest
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Bill Roest held several leadership roles in the New Zealand finance sector before joining Fletcher Challenge Limited upon the acquisition of Group Rentals in 1986. Since then, he has been Managing Director of Fletcher Residential and Fletcher Aluminium before taking up his present position. He also has responsibility for planning, procurement and performance improvement initiatives across Fletcher Building. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and a fellow of the Association of Certified Corporate Accountants (UK).

D Worley
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - LAMINATES AND PANELS - LAMINEX

David Worley was General Manager of James Hardie Industries in New Zealand prior to joining Fletcher Building in January 2002. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. His broad business background also includes the role of General Manager in Auckland Healthcare Services and senior positions in Whitcoulls and Carter Holt Harvey. David gained his Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees from Auckland University.

P H Zuckerman
CHIEF EXECUTIVE - STEEL

Paul Zuckerman was recruited as Chief Executive of the Steel division in May 2007. He is a member of the Fletcher Building Executive Committee. Prior to joining Fletcher Building, Paul held the position of President, Greater China within BlueScope Steel Limited, having held increasingly senior management roles in that company, based in USA and Australia, over the last 11 years. Prior to this, his business background included 8 years at PPG Industries, a leading global manufacturer of industrial coating, glass and chemical products. Paul gained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Syracuse University and an MBA from Ohio State University.
