Our vision
Our aim is to achieve zero harm:
- Zero harm means that people do not get hurt at work and everyone returns home injury free.
- Zero harm reflects our belief that all injuries are preventable.
- To achieve zero harm, we recognise the importance of visible leadership.
Fletcher Building has established an Executive-led Health and Safety Council and developed a clear vision, policy and standards. Each year, the Council produces a safety plan with the priorities and programmes to be implemented company-wide. We set performance targets for the whole company. These targets are cascaded down through the divisions and business units. Guidelines and resources are produced to help business units manage common hazards in a more consistent manner. An electronic health and safety reporting system is shared across the group, allowing us to monitor performance.
