Fletcher Building has acquired Calder Stewart Roofing, which includes the brand Roofing Smiths.
Calder Stewart (CS) Roofing is a New Zealand rollforming business. They sell a unique range of roofing, architectural cladding and solar roofing products across New Zealand to farmers, builders and homeowners.
CS Roofing will join Dimond in the portfolio of businesses under Fletcher Steel and will support the strategic growth strategy of Fletcher's distribution sector.
In time, the joining together of Dimond and CS Roofing will allow customers to purchase from both brands with one account.
Fletcher Building Steel Distribution General Manager Hamish McBeath says the 31 March purchase complements the Dimond roll forming distribution chain by filling some gaps in the national network.
"We recognise the great work that has been done by the team at CS Roofing in bringing new products and systems in to the market and this gives us the opportunity to maximize the benefits of these products through a larger network."
As with Fletcher Reinforcing and Dimond, the Steel Distribution team will be working hard over the next 18 months to integrate CS Roofing into the team.
Steel Distribution is looking forward to working with both the existing Roofing Smiths and the wider customer base of CS Roofing nationally.
"We are excited about the growth potential that CS Roofing brings and further opportunity to differentiate ourselves from the competition via great service and solutions," says Fletcher Building Chief Executive of Distribution, Dean Fradgley, "their profiles and solar rib product ranges are outstanding."
All existing supply agreements with The Roofing Smiths installation companies will remain in place between Fletcher Steel and The Roofing Smiths.
Fletcher Steel will continue to supply roll formed roofing products on a national basis, both directly to roofing installers and through a range of building material merchants.
